Stacey Harding
Stacey Harding began his mortgage lending career in 1985 as a Mortgage Loan Originator. Throughout his career, Stacey has held management positions at a thrift in Kansas, the mortgage and lending division of a Colorado bank, and one of the nation’s largest homebuilders. His current position as National Production Manager at Cherry Creek Mortgage Company, Inc. allows Stacey to align his responsibilities with his true professional passion of developing mortgage leaders. Stacey has held CMLA's Certified Mortgage Lender designation since 2004. He recently received the prestigious Lifetime Mastery Achievement Award from The Duncan Group. Stacey and his wife Heather have been married for 20 years and have three children.

Julie Piepho has been in the mortgage lending industry for over 25 years and is currently Senior Vice-President of Cornerstone Mortgage Company in Houston, TX. Julie has held the prestigious Master Certified Mortgage Banker designation from MBA since 2002 and the CML designation from CMLA for five years. Julie has been on the Board of Directors for CMLA for five years and has chaired the Education Committee and currently chairs the Legislative Committee. Julie received CMLA’s Barbara Jacob award in 2004. Julie loves to play golf and is actively involved in the Northern Colorado Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, is an advisory board member of the Everitt Real Estate Center at Colorado State University, a member of the National Speakers Association and PEO.
Jay Garten
Jay Garten has been in the mortgage lending industry for 27 years. He is currently the President of Peoples Mortgage Corporation in Colorado Springs. He is currently chairman of CMLA’s Political Action Committee. Jay served two years as Officer of the CMLA Southern Chapter and has held CMLA’s Certified Mortgage Lender designation since 2004. Jay remains active in the Southern Chapter and enjoys boating, hunting and fishing.

Patricia Norton, a mortgage lender since 1983, is Vice President of Wellton Mortgage Company in Englewood. Patricia serves on CMLA’s legislative committee and Industry awards include CAMB’s Outstanding Service Award (1984-1989), Mortgage Broker of the Year (1992, 1993) and the President’s Award of Merit (1994). NAMB awards include Volunteer of the Year (1995) and National Mortgage Industry Distinguished Service award (1997). As a columnist for National Mortgage Broker magazine, Patricia received the Award for Excellence in Writing - Commentary Feature of the Year (1998, 2000), also NAMB’s Volunteer of the Year award (1994). Civic activities include participation in several historic preservation associations and political activities. Patricia enjoys gardening, the theater and every minute spent with her mother, children and grandchildren.

Chris Holbert fulfills the duties of executive director, spokesperson, and lobbyist for the association. He has been involved in federal and state legislative and regulatory issues pertaining to the mortgage lending industry since 1992. Chris is an active volunteer as he is former chairman of the Denver/Boulder BBB Mortgage Trade Practices Group, and President of the Meridian Hills Homeowners Association. He is also politically active, serving as an Officer for Colorado House District 44 and as a District Captain for the Douglas County GOP. Chris has summited 38 of Colorado’s 54 “14’ers.”


 
Paul Franke
Paul R. Franke, III is a founding partner in the law firm of Franke Greenhouse List & Lippitt, LLP which specializes in real estate and finance. Paul specializes in complex commercial litigation emphasizing financial and real estate transactions. He has been involved in the mortgage banking industry since 1987 and represents mortgage originators, lenders, secondary market investors as well as conventional banks and other lenders. Paul has served as CMLA general counsel since 1997. Paul also is active in the community serving as Chair of the Board of Trustees for Mile High United Way.

Carolyn Carnie
Carolyn Carnie is the Division Vice President for the Denver Tech Center office of CTX Mortgage Company, LLC, a fortune 250 company. She joined CTX Mortgage Company, LLC on December 1, 2000 following a 14-year career with Cherry Creek Mortgage Company, as founder and Vice President. As Division VP, she is responsible for managing one of the largest retail CTX branches in the country. The DTC branch consists of 17 Loan Officers who consistently close in excess of $100,000,000 per year. Carolyn is a member of the Mortgage Brokers Rule Making Task Force for the State of Colorado. She recently received her CMPS (Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist) certification.

Chris Dietz

Chris Dietz started his career in the real estate industry in 1994 with Arthur Andersen. He is currently is Vice President/Branch Manager of Clarion Mortgage Capital, Inc. where he is responsible for recruiting and managing loan officers in Colorado. Chris has held several management positions at Clarion since 2001 and with other financial and investment banking firms. Chris holds a CPA license and obtained his MBA from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2001. He has held CMLA’s CML designation since 2003 and is a member of the Future Mortgage Leaders of Colorado inaugural class. In addition to spending time with his wife and daughter, Chris enjoys golf, skiing, running, and CU football and basketball games. He is also proud of establishing a foundation for Craig Hospital.

Brad Groves

Brad Groves has been in the mortgage industry for 16 years. He is the Chief Financial Officer of Universal Lending Corporation in Denver where his responsibilities include the Accounting, Information Systems, Post Closing, and Secondary Marketing departments. Brad earned his CML designation in 2004 and became a CMLA board member in 2005. In addition to spending time with his wife and three children, Brad enjoys hunting, ranching, and other outdoor activities.

Dan Hagstrom
Dan Hagstrom has been in the mortgage brokerage business for 20 years. He has owned Yellowstone Mortgage, located in Arvada, for over 10 years, and provides his clients with FHA, VA, and all types of residential financing. Dan enjoys working on the networking committee. Outside of work, Dan pursues his personal interests including writing poetry, restoring old cars, and being outside, especially on a snowboard.

Bruce Jordan
Bruce Jordan started his career in the real estate industry in 1979 as a lawyer in New York, where he practiced law until retiring from general practice in 1999. His work in upstate New York was predominantly focused on real estate, mortgage lending and title matters. Since August 2000, he has been associated with Aspen Funding Corporation as a Loan Officer and Operations Manager. Bruce has been a regular instructor for the CMLA for the past three years, is a licensed Real Estate Broker and licensed title agent with the State of Colorado. Bruce obtained his CML designation in August 2007. He is also a featured instructor at area Realtor and Attorney Continuing Education programs. Since relocating to Colorado, Bruce has become an avid road cyclist and backcountry skiing enthusiast.

Tom Kimball has been with Land Title Guarantee Company for 13 years and manages the company's Lender Strategic Accounts division. He has served with CMLA since 2001 where he worked on the networking committee; he currently serves on the legislative committee and is the Chairman for CMLA's Democrat Caucus. His professional designations include Certified Mortgage Lender (CML) since 2003 and Certified Title Insurance Specialist (CTIS). In 1997 he was the Colorado Association of Mortgage Brokers Affiliate of the Year. Tom is very involved in the community serving on numerous Boards and Committees including The Byrne Foundation, Youth Opportunity Foundation, and Colorado Academy. He lives in downtown Denver with his wife Nancy.

Jim Lobenstein has been in the mortgage lending industry since 1983. He is currently President of American Eagle Mortgage, Inc. and was elected President of the Colorado Association of Mortgage Brokers (CAMB) in 1993. Jim was voted CAMB Lender of the Year (1994). Jim also was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB) based in Washington, D.C. Jim was elected to the board of the CMLA in 2002. He currently serves on the Legislative Committee and is a member of the Blue Ribbon Task Force looking for private sector solutions to affordable housing. Jim is an avid classic car collector and down hill skier. He has been married to his wife for over 18 years and has a daughter, Emily.


 
Eric Mowrey
Eric Mowrey has been in the mortgage lending industry since 1984. He is presently West-Central Region sales manger for Citi Home Equity in the broker wholesale channel. Eric was in invited to President’s Club for Citigroup in 2005 for his accomplishments in growing the business volume in his region. On the CMLA board of directors, Eric assists on the networking and the legislative committees. He has held the CML designation since 2002. Eric loves living in the mountains near Winter Park and the many outdoor activities it provides. In particular, he loves to ski and is a volunteer on-mountain host for the Winter Park Ski Resort.

Shane Phillips
Shane Phillips began his career in mortgage lending in 1993 as an intern with one of Colorado's largest mortgage companies. During his tenure in the industry, he has worked in a variety of positions that prepared him for his career as the President of OptiChoice Lending Corp. Shane has personally funded over $100 million in loans, and has twice been recognized as a Top 10 national producer. In 2005, he was recognized by the Denver Business Journal as one of the 40 under 40 emerging business professionals in Denver. Shane is the Chairman and Co-founder of the Children's Grief Education Association. In addition, he has served as a campaign advisor to former Colorado State Senate President John Andrews, Arapahoe County Clerk and Recorder Nancy Doty, and Colorado State House Candidate Dr. Matt Dunn. Shane resides in Highlands Ranch with his wife Valerie and their four children.

Jerra H. Ryan is the DTC Branch Manager of Cherry Creek Mortgage and has served the real estate and mortgage community for over 15 years. As a producing manager, she sets the standards for borrower education and origination excellence. A consummate pursuer of knowledge, she is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Metropolitan State College of Denver, she has held her CML since 2004 and recently earned her designation as a Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist (CMPS). Jerra has been active with CMLA since 2001 and serves on both the Education and Legislative committees. A Swim-and-Soccer Mom, Jerra is a Colorado native and proud to be the wife of a Denver Firefighter and the mother of their four great kids. She enjoys her roles as the head cook of their busy home, the agent of the family travel agendas and collector of a growing wine cellar.

Tami Starley has been in the mortgage industry for 25 years. She is currently a Senior Loan Consultant with Milestone Mortgage. Tami has been active with CMLA committee work for ten years; a member of the Board of Directors and chair of the networking committee for three years. She was the 2006 recipient of the Aksel Nielsen Award. Tami received her CML designation in 2004. She enjoys camping, golfing, boating, and travel.

Shannon VanSickler
Shannon VanSickler, CML
Shannon VanSickler is the Director of 1st Mortgage Lending at Bellco Credit Union based in Greenwood Village, Colorado. Shannon began her career in Financial Services in 1991 as a Mortgage Loan Officer/Supervisor for Rocky Mountain Federal Savings Bank in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She has held positions as a Branch Manager, Wholesale Accounts Manager as well as the Co-Owner and Vice President of First Heritage Financial Corporation. Shannon joined the credit union movement in 1999 as the Assistant Vice President Mortgage Banking/Sales Manager at Air Academy Federal Credit Union where she was instrumental in a complete overhaul of mortgage lending operations which garnered the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Lending Council’s 2001 Excellence in Lending Award for all Credit Unions with less than $150m in Assets. Shannon is active on CMLA's Legislative committee and has held the CML designation since 2004. She is the Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the Colorado Credit Union Real Estate Network (CUREN). Shannon is a passionate speaker on Sales and Service as well as Mortgage Lending for the credit union industry.

Jim Lewis has been in the mortgage lending/real estate finance business for 30+ years and is currently President of Clarion Mortgage Capital, Inc. in Greenwood Village, CO. Jim was voted "Entrepreneur of the Year" in 2002, and "Mortgage Lender of the Year" in 2006. He has been active in CMLA for the past 7 years, serving on the Representation and Networking Domains and has held CMLA's CML Designation since the inception of the program in 2001. Jim enjoys golf and road biking.

Roy Alexander

Roy Alexander is Executive Director, Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA). He joined the CHFA staff in October 1988. Prior to assuming the responsibilities of executive director on January 1, 2001, Mr. Alexander served as the authority’s director of finance. He was previously a financial manager with a major Colorado manufacturer and a senior manager with Touche Ross, a Big Eight international accounting and consulting firm. Mr. Alexander is a member of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a graduate of Metropolitan State College with a degree in accounting.

Bill Newell

Bill Newell retired from PMI Mortgage Insurance Company in 2004 after 26 years in various sales and management positions at PMI.  He was active in the CMLA during his career, having served on the Board of Directors for 10 years and as Chairman of the Board 1996-97. 
Mr. Newell was awarded the E. Michael Rosser Award in 2000, the C.A. Bus Bacon Award in 1997, the Barbara Jacob Award in 1995, and the Everett C. Spellman Award for Mortgage Banker of the Year in 1991.  Bill and his wife Leslie have been married for 23 years and have two daughters.  He graduated from CU and has a Masters Degree from the University of Arizona.

Jon Paukovich
Jon Paukovich has been in the mortgage lending industry for 17 years and is currently the Director of Mortgage Lending at Ent Federal Credit Union in Colorado Springs. Jon has served on the Education Committee and is currently serving on the Legislative Committee. Jon received his Certified Mortgage Lender designation in 2005. He enjoys golfing, skiing, fishing and watching his kid’s sporting events.

Lonnie Burkholder

Lonnie Burkholder is the Assistant Vice President of mortgage lending at Air Academy Federal Credit Union.  Lonnie brings experience from regional and National builder mortgage companies as well as mortgage banking and mortgage broker experience.  Lonnie is on the boards of the Rocky Mountain Community Land trust, Colorado families for Hands and Voices and is the current second chair for the Southern Chapter of the CMLA. Lonnie has held the CML designation since 2006.

Stu Hoime has been in the mortgage lending business since 1994. In August 1998 he was offered his first management position and opened a new branch for Countrywide Home Loans in Greeley, CO. After becoming one of the top builder branches in the state, Stu received a promotion in April 2000 and moved to Minneapolis with Countrywide, serving as a Regional Builder Manager. In late 2001, a local bank lured Stu back to Colorado where he was Vice President of their Mortgage Division in Northern Colorado. With a desire to rejoin the nation’s largest home lender, Stu rejoined Countrywide in April 2004. Since then he has opened two new branches and a large Joint Venture with The Group Inc, Real Estate, where he is currently the Venture Manager for The Group Guaranteed Mortgage and oversees seven offices for the Joint Venture between Countrywide and The Group Inc. Real Estate.

 

 
Scott Ellis
Scott Ellis has been in the mortgage lending industry for 3.5 years and is currently a Loan Consultant for The Group Guaranteed Mortgage. Scott received his Bachelor's degree in Business, with a concentration in Finance from Colorado State University. Scott is serving his second year as the Second Chapter Officer for the Northern CMLA Chapter. When he is not working hard closing loans, he enjoys weight lifting, exercise and softball.

Linda McKinley

Linda McKinley got her start in the mortgage industry in 1994 with American Western Mortgage where she quickly became branch manager of the Glenwood Springs office. Linda moved to Premier Mortgage Group as branch manager of the Glenwood Springs office in 2001; she is currently branch manager of the Glenwood Springs office for Cherry Creek Mortgage Company. Prior to her mortgage lending career, Linda was a Real Estate broker with her own company from 1977 – 1994. She was Affiliate of the Year, Glenwood Springs Board of Realtors (2000), and a member of the Premier Club (production - 2001-2005) Linda has held the CML designation since January 2002. Her civic activities include work with Youth Zone, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for youth to be responsible, contributing members of society, serving on the Affordable Housing Committee and Realtor Affiliate Committee for the Glenwood Springs Assn. of Realtors. She enjoys traveling with her family, cooking, and reading.
