The City of Aurora paired with many partners August 4, hosting their third annual homeownership fair. Approximately 250-300 potential buyers visited and participated in classes and had time to interact with local mortgage companies, community agencies, HUD, CHFA, insurance companies and Realtors. CMLA members CHFA, National City Mortgage and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage sponsored and participated in the event.
Charlotte ODonnell, CMLA Community Resource Director partnered with Norma Andersen, Business Development Specialist, CHFA in teaching Fair attendees about mortgage selection. We held two classes with a good size audience, presenting information on how to select a lender, questions to ask about choosing a mortgage product and steps to take to be involved in the lending process. The CMLA Help Line (303-773-9565 x.4) was one of the resources provided to consumers.

utilized the theme of the popular game show “Deal or No Deal” to help consumers understand important aspects of the mortgage process.
“The CMLA booth had a steady flow of consumers who stopped and asked questions that ranged from inquiries about certain documentation to the new mortgage originator licensing requirements,” Ms. O’Donnell said. “This Fair was a great opportunity for people to become better educated about the mortgage process and understand about resources from a variety of industry professionals.”
CMLA members wishing to get more involved with the Aurora Housing Fair may contact Charlotte O’Donnell at 303-773-9565 x4. Congratulations to the City of Aurora for a successful fair!
