n t0his issue:2007 Convention: Sales Safari!
by Stacey Harding, Chairman-Elect
As Chairman-Elect of the CMLA, I hold a deep conviction that helping people own homes and responsibly plan their mortgage debt is both honorable and noble. This Convention is all about raising the bar of mortgage lending excellence. For over 50 years, the staff and volunteers of the CMLA have worked diligently, in partnership with our members, to help fulfill the American Dream of homeownership in Colorado. While times are changing, our dedication and commitment to “creating a world of homeownership achieved through the practice of integrity based lending” has not.
With two of the top sales trainers in the nation highlighting our Convention, and the constantly changing business environment we’re all learning to adapt to, these three days in Vail will truly be a “Sales Safari.” I am positive that this Convention will be one to remember – beginning with the Welcome Reception, a fun-filled day of golf in the beautiful Vail Valley, interactions with technology companies that will help you increase your business – and of course, Todd Duncan and Barry Habib!
Convention highlights will include an informative address Thursday morning by Barry Habib, CEO of the highly acclaimed Mortgage MarketGuide, on “Wealth creation and mortgage planning.” Mr. Habib will show you how you can help change the lives of your clients for the better by arming them with the right tools, knowledge, and confidence. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to be better than the rest of the pack and how to add value and make an impact in your customer’s financial futures.
Thursday afternoon you’ll have the opportunity to hear from attorneys Paul Franke and Dan Satriana about employment law – and the implications of RESPA and FHA on employment situations, including loan originator regulation. Plus, take a few minutes to interact with marketing technology professionals and learn about resources and tools that will help you increase your efficiency and productivity.
Friday morning will start bright and early with “Todd Duncan Unplugged” – your chance to experience a really intense, free-fire Q&A on the state of the industry, the state of selling and the state of leadership. Learn from Todd directly about what it takes to be as profitable as possible in today’s competitive environment. Following the ‘Unplugged’ session, Todd has developed a customized program called “Sales Excellence: The Ultimate Business Efficiency.” Todd has been studying sales in the mortgage industry for the past year with an eye towards sales call performance and productivity. He will share with you the number one decision that loan originators and managers need to make today to secure their future.
Clearly, our 2007 “Sales Safari” Convention will hold something for everyone. Whether you’re a mortgage banker, mortgage broker, or a service provider, you won’t want to miss what promises to be a fantastic educational networking opportunity. Join me and your colleagues from around the country August 7-10 in Vail!
