Chairman's Letter, May 2010

Greetings from the CMLA,

As promised, your CMLA is continuing the practice of updating members and friends with regular communication on activities, happenings and opportunities within the CMLA organization and the lending community.  This newsletter brings you updates from the networking and legislative arenas as well as information from the Forum committee and the Southern, Northern and Western Chapters of CMLA.

The highlight article for this issue is “Future Mortgage Leaders” program at CMLA”. The 2010-2011 class is starting soon and now is the time to find out more for yourself or someone you work with. We know you have the talent….. will you use it?  We hope that you enjoy this issue and we encourage you to forward it to others that may not receive it directly.

Have you been to our networking Events lately? This month’s Denver and Colorado Springs Luncheons got rave reviews! The speakers were great and the company was wonderful! Please be sure to participate.

When was the last time you spent a few days in Vail in the summer? It is gorgeous! Our annual convention is the first weekend in August and we would love to see you there. Visit our website for more details. Everyone is welcome!

I want to acknowledge and send a special thanks to Terry Jones, Fran Coleman (our lobbyist), and the entire legislative team. Their work this past session was hard, passionate, and very effective for all of us in the industry! Terry executed a new committee structure and committee work plan that allowed better communication, input and action plan execution. The results were impressive. Nice job, Team!
