CML License Exemption Information

To become a mortgage broker in the state of Colorado, you are required to complete a 40-hour Mortgage Broker Licensing Education Course and complete a 100-question test prior to applying for a  license. Persons who have obtained their CML might qualify for an exemption to a portion of those requirements.

You must be a CMLA member AND have a current CML. If you have BOTH - a Certified Mortgage Lender designation AND are an employee of a CMLA member company - you qualify for the 20.5 hour exemption status.
