We serve our community through principled representation, effective education, and gracious networking to advance free enterprise and the highest ethical standards in the mortgage lending industry.
Representation Goals:
1. To be committed to free enterprise and proactive in promoting the interests of our membership to the legislature, agencies, general public, media, and affiliated association.
2. To be effective in analyzing the details and communicating the impact of relevant issues, regulations, and events to our members and affiliated parties.
Our current representation domain chair is Jay Garten. Jay has been in the mortgage lending industry for over 25 years and is currently President of Peoples Mortgage Corporation in Colorado Springs, CO.
CMLA's legislative lobbyists are Fran Coleman and Lauri Clapp . Fran and Lauri are both former legislators. Their principal charge is to monitor legislative activity and recommend potential action to the Board of Directors as appropriate.
