Everett C. Spelman Award
Established in 1975, the Everett C. Spelman Award is presented annually to a member whose reputation of ethical and professional conduct with both the public and lenders is exemplary, and whose record of service to the community and the mortgage lending industry is above the ordinary. Its namesake is Everett C. Spelman, Sr., who served as President of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America in 1971 and whose son, Everett Spelman, Jr. served as President of CMLA from 1966-1967.
